What type of class are you looking for?

OM* Yin Yoga – great for beginners, seniors, or anyone who wants to de-stress.

Referred to the “practice of quiet power”, is a slow, stationary and contemplative practice.

Yin yoga is a practice that targets the deeper connective tissues in our bodies like ligaments, joints, tendons and fascia. Often, limited mobility is caused by limited movement in these deeper tissues.

Lengthing the fascia specifically has been directly correlated to improve strength, balance, and increased mobility.

In Yin classes poses are mainly seated or reclined and held for 2-10 minutes to provide a therapeutic stretch to the connective tissues. The stillness provides us the opportunity to work into these tissues, and also to slow down, tune in, and listen to what we need in each moment.

Kundalini – All Levels

Kundalini, the Yoga of Awareness, was brought to the West by Yogi Bhajan in1968. Kundalini works on bridging the mindbody connection working with different parts of the body to strengthen  and promote a metabolic balance to develop hardiness. On a deeper level, it improves intuition, encourages your  own power, and gives you more control over your own well-being.

Hot 26 OM* Yoga – All Levels (including beginners if you are looking for a good workout)

This class offers the same 26 poses in every class. It is recommended for everyone, from first-day beginners to advanced students. In an effort to create a more sustainable yoga practice, our cuing will no longer imply the need to force the body into a specific shape. The beauty of this class is that everyone is practicing the same posture at different levels of ability. The room is heated to warm and lengthen your muscles, prevent injuries and allow for a deeper release in your body. Room temp – 100*-104*

Hatha OM* Flow All-Levels (including beginners)
This is a grounding practice in a sustainable, flowing sequence sometimes matching breath to movement with longer hold times for more mind/body awareness.

Beginners will feel comfortable – no prior experience necessary, while experienced yogis will have an opportunity to settle deeper into their practice.

Active OM *Yin Yoga – great for beginners, seniors, or anyone who wants to de-stress.

This is similar to the other Yin Classes at ddy, but the poses will be a little more active in nature, allowing connective tissues to rehabilitate and safely stretch. There will also be opportunity for gentle more Yang-like movement between poses. Those who practice Yin regularly will benefit from some of the more active aspects of the class so that the Yin practice doesn’t become stagnant. Those with a more Yang practice and/or lifestyle will benefit from the slower pace and longer hold times of the Active Yin class. The class is designed to introduce balance to your practice whether you fall on the Yin or Yang side. NON-HEATED CLASS (room is kept at a comfortable temperature) appropriate for ALL levels, ALL body types.

Ebb and Flow – all levels for those who have a sense of adventure and want to jump right in.

Ebb and Flow is a playful flow practiced in a warm room. Ebb with slow, mindful transitions into challenging, yet sustainable postures. Shift smoothly into a playful vinyasa flow, incorporating the same postures and transitions, linking breath to movement. You can expect to ebb and flow between slow flow and a faster paced breath to movement throughout your practice. One final Ebb will bring you into a gentle cool down, and balancing Savasana. This class offers a fun challenge that is suitable for all levels of practice.
